YouTube Description Links – Transcript

YouTube Description Links – they’re clickable links that are super easy to add to your video’s description box and I’m going to show you how to add them – and I’m also going to show you what you need to fix if your links aren’t working.

Let’s get started.

So we’re in the YouTube creator studio, in the Description box.

All you need to do to add your link is to type it in – or you can copy and paste it from your browser.

You need to make sure that your link has the http:// or the https:// part at the start, because if it doesn’t have that bit, YouTube won’t recognise that you’ve added a link and your link will just show up as ordinary black text and no-one will be able to click on it.

You can link to just about anywhere – your social media profiles, your website, useful information on other websites – in fact, it’s a good idea to add any links that you’ve mentioned in your video to your video’s description.

If you’ve published your video and your links don’t work, then you need to go back into your creator studio and check that the http:// or the https:// part of the link has been included, and that there are no spaces in the middle of your link. You might also need to check that there is a proper space right before your link and it isn’t jammed right up against an emoji.

When you’re done making changes, make sure you click on the save button.

If you learnt something from this video, make sure you give it a thumbs up, and if you haven’t subscribed to my channel yet – do that right now by clicking the subscribe button and turning on notifications – so you’ll see my next video as soon as it goes live.
